Come on a chilled, small group walk with like minded queer folks looking to connect with nature. This month we’re doing a beautiful coastal walk along the top of the famous white cliffs from Dover to Walmer in Kent, with an optional sea swim at lunchtime!

Distance: 16km / 9.9 miles
Difficulty rating: Improver*
Walking time: 5 hours
Pace: Not too fast, with a stop halfway for lunch on the beach (bring a packed lunch!).
Elevation: Mostly flat (2m– 43m, total ascent 198 metres). The start of the walk has some hills (up to the cliffs and down to the beach) but the second half is much flatter.
Accessibility: This walk will be on coastal paths with some stairs and along the (unpaved) beach/cliff tops. There will be toilets en route.
Kit needed: Sturdy shoes you don't mind getting potentially wet (trainers with good grip, walking sandals/shoes/boots etc.), waterproof jacket (if necessary), swimming stuff if you want to join the sea dip, a small rucksack to carry your food (lunch and snacks), water (at least 1 litre), personal medication, something to sit on the ground (plastic bag, sit mat etc.).

* Improver walks are for people who have been on half day walks before but want a slightly more challenging walk with more hills or greater distance, with more effort required. Everyone is welcome but it is important that we all go at the same pace, so be prepared to walk slower than usual, especially if you are used to walking longer distances more frequently. The idea is to have a chilled time connecting with nature and community/enjoying the journey together - not ‘smashing the hike' as fast as possible. Snack breaks and pauses to marvel at nature are encouraged!

The walk will take place in any weather, including rain (except in the case of a severe weather warning), so please be prepared to be outside for hours in all weather (see kit list).
No refunds - resale might be possible if there's a waiting list - feel free to give your ticket to a mate - just let me know so I can expect them.
