The Jester is Against AI Posters.
the use of generative AI is becoming an increasingly concerning issue. Not only considering the needless destruction of our environment with data centres; AI is trained in an incredibly unsafe manner with a disregard of artist's work, and it actively poses a safety risk with children after certain states ruled the creation of C.S.A.M. with AI as constitutional- and considering the fact AI is trained on real photos of children - possibly even your own, or your grandkids - I am sure you will agree that supporting the use of AI is unethical at best.
If the above doesn't convince you to avoid using generative AI on a human level- as an artist, using image generation with AI is actively a plagiarism misconduct. AI is trained off the art of graphic designers, painters, photographers etc. across the world without their consent. Studies done across the UK reveals nearly 70% of gen Z and millennials would not go to a show if it had AI art advertising it. Nearly 85% of this group also says they would not support a business using AI art.
If you want your show to be successful, you need to reconsider your use of AI. There has been a lot of discussion on the local stand up comedy scene about people using AI due to it being accessible and the only way they know how to make posters, or the only way they can afford it.
So, I'd like to offer a completely free hour teaching you all how to use Canva (without the AI aspects of it!).
But seriously, you'd get more people through the door if you advertised your show with MS Paint.
