Hey Theatre Fam,
For our next Theatre Club outing, we’re heading to the National Theatre to see ELEKTRA/PERSONA directed by Benedict Andrews and starring Cate Blanchett and Nina Hoss, on 23 September at 7pm (we usually start gathering at 6.15pm).
‼️‼️This show is completely sold out, but the National Theatre has been incredibly kind in supporting our Theatre Club by reserving seats for us and offering them for FREE. How amazing is that?!
Free tickets are like gold, and I really don’t want any to go to waste, so please only book if you know you can attend.
PLEASE NOTE: There is a £5 refundable deposit, plus a small booking fee. Your deposit will be returned after you attend, or you can choose to donate it to support the huge amount of work involved in organising the Theatre Club.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
Electra/Persona brings together two stories: a daughter seeking revenge for her father’s murder, and an actress who stops speaking and develops an intense relationship with her nurse.
This new production connects Sophocles’ Greek tragedy with Ingmar Bergman’s film to explore grief, identity and what happens when the roles we play for others become too much to bear.
You can also add a small donation at checkout if you’d like to support the project and the work behind it. That would be really appreciated 💖
‼️Limited tickets are available with this special offer. First come, first served — so book ASAP to avoid disappointment ‼️
You’ll book here, and then I’ll send you the details of the meet-up point. You’ll collect your ticket on the day.
And as always, Theatre Club is not about being an expert, knowing the “right” thing to say, or arriving with a polished opinion. It’s about meeting people, making new friends, and experiencing theatre and dance together in an informal, friendly, completely unpretentious way.
Come for the show, stay for a chat after if you fancy. Everyone is welcome.
Can't wait to see you there!
