The Common Press is excited to host Queer Capoeira on 29th September from 6:30 pm - 9 pm for beginners or experienced capoeiristas. It's a great opportunity to learn, practice and socialise with other queers who love Capoeira. The evening will be led by Z B Hunter (Wakanda).

Capoeira is an Afro-Brazilian martial art and game that integrates elements of dance, acrobatics, music, and spirituality. Renowned for its acrobatic and intricate maneuvers, capoeira often involves hands on the ground and inverted kicks, showcasing its dynamic and fluid nature. This martial art has been a part of Afro-Brazilian culture for centuries, embodying a rich history and tradition that continues to thrive today.

Doors open from 6:30pm. Session from 7pm - 9pm *(Downstairs).
Wear comfortable and sports/workout clothing.
No experience required

About Z B Hunter (Wakanda)

Z B Hunter is a queer writer and capoeirista who first discovered the Afro-Brazilian martial art when he was 16 and goes by the name “Wakanda” in the community. He has had multiple teachers from different styles of capoeira over the years which has informed his knowledge of the art and understanding of himself. He currently trains a contemporary style with Capoeira Club London.
