Hey Theatre Fam,
For our next Theatre Club outing, we’re heading to Stone Nest to see Ecstasy of the Virtues by Sby Nwando Ebizie on 27 September at 7.30pm (we usually start gathering at 7pm). It's a beautiful venue and the show is really intriguing.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
The show takes the visions of Hildegard von Bingen — a 12th-century abbess, composer and mystic — and reimagines them through artist Nwando Ebizie’s world. The Devil becomes Self Loathing, turning an old religious figure into a metaphor for the parts of ourselves we hide.
Musically, it moves between medieval music, electronics, African musical traditions and live instruments, with dance, projections and ritual woven through it all.
And I really love that accessibility is part of the artistic language itself, with theatrical BSL, creative captions and a relaxed atmosphere built into the performance.

The show is basically sold out but our Theatre Club has a special limited allocation of tickets for £10 (instead of £45), plus a small transaction fee. Top quality seats as always.
You can also add a small donation at checkout if you’d like to support the project and the work behind it. That would be really appreciated 💖
‼️Limited tickets are available with this special offer. First come, first served — so book ASAP to avoid disappointment ‼️
You’ll book here, and then I’ll send you the details of the meet-up point. You’ll collect your ticket on the day. Tickets are non-refundable.
And as always, Theatre Club is not about being an expert, knowing the “right” thing to say, or arriving with a polished opinion. It’s about meeting people, making new friends, and experiencing theatre and dance together in an informal, friendly, completely unpretentious way.
Come for the show, stay for a chat after if you fancy. Everyone is welcome.
Can't wait to see you there!
