To Accompany is Political Book and Workshop Tour
Florencia Montes Paez of No Tan Distintes [Not So Different, NTD] from Buenos Aires, Argentina will be in the UK between 31st October-7th November on a book and workshop tour. As well as being a founding militante of No Tan Distintes, Flor managed Frida, the first centre in Argentina to host women and queer people experiencing homelessness and their children. She also organised the first street homelessness census in Buenos Aires and drafted Argentina’s first national law on homelessness.Flor and the work of NTD are a reference point for activists, social organisations and state workers across Latin America and Spain. Formas Press with Daniela Camozzi have translated her work into English for the first time in 'To Accompany is Political: A Transfeminist Essay on Homelessness', a book that speaks from experience to address harm reduction, self-management of homelessness spaces, interdependence, collective memory and how we sustain ourselves in life and current fights against fascism. We are hosting a series of workshops and book discussions with local activists across the UK to bring her work to an English-speaking context.
