A Reading Group for Dance Artists (Member-led Event)
Emma Lewis-Jones is a dance dramaturge concerned with strategies of critique as care. This workshop will focus on the ways in which we can read performance together. It’ll feel like an expansive reading group with some gentle movement tasks thrown in. There shall be some materials and provocations through which to trace the ways forming allyship to ideas can accelerate collaborative dynamics; using discussion, interrogation and embodied reading.
This will be a dyslexia-led workshop. It follows on from our regular Professional Contemporary morning class (find details here).
Venue
Queens Park Govanhill Parish Church (QPGPC) has yellow doors. The internal venue used is the Sanctuary, which is accessed via lift or stairs. This is the same room that is being used for Pro Class.
Access
We aim for our workshops to be accessible to a wide range of physicalities. If you have any access requirements that you would like to make us aware of in advance or you would like to chat this through, please contact hello@theworkroom.org.uk
