Hey Theatre Fam,
For our next Theatre Club outing, we’re heading to Bush Theatre to see DARKLING by Titas Halder on 3 October at 7.30pm (we usually start gathering at 6.45pm).
I’ve already seen this play, and I LOVED it! The writing is beautiful, and it stars Linnea Berthelsen, who you may know from the hit Netflix series Stranger Things, where she played Kali.
Theatre Club events tend to sell out really quickly, so if you’d like to join us, I’d recommend booking your ticket as soon as you can 🤗
And if you find it’s already sold out, don’t worry. Please join the waiting list! Cancellations do happen, and I may also be able to get hold of a few extra tickets.
ABOUT THE SHOW:
A chemical factory promises jobs and a better future to the people of Bhopal, India. In 1984, a toxic gas leak kills thousands and leaves survivors with lasting illness. The play approaches this disaster through a girl who once looked at the factory with wonder, even imagining she might run it.
Following her life before and after the leak, it explores corporate power, caste, environmental destruction and the struggle for accountability.
At its heart is a question: what does progress mean when the people living beside a factory have so little say in its promises, its risks or its consequences?
Our Theatre Club has a special limited allocation of tickets for £6 (instead of £35), plus a small transaction fee. Top quality seats as always.
You can also add a small donation at checkout if you’d like to support the project and the work behind it. That would be really appreciated 💖
‼️Limited tickets are available with this special offer. First come, first served — so book ASAP to avoid disappointment ‼️
You’ll book here, and then I’ll send you the details of the meet-up point. You’ll collect your ticket on the day. Tickets are non-refundable.
And as always, Theatre Club is not about being an expert, knowing the “right” thing to say, or arriving with a polished opinion. It’s about meeting people, making new friends, and experiencing theatre and dance together in an informal, friendly, completely unpretentious way.
Come for the show, stay for a chat after if you fancy. Everyone is welcome.
🚨If you can't make it on on Saturday 3 October, you can use my exclusive promo code DARKLINGPOT at checkout to get £10 tickets on Band B only, valid for performances until 10 October.
