A scratch night that centres the sensual and sexy is debuting at The Common Press Dalston this November. EROTIQUE is here! And we’ll be turning the much loved space into our very own sultry speakeasy…
Come and listen to the words of some of the most talented Black, Brown and Global Majority writers and the incredible movement performers who’ll be re-enacting their erotic pieces alongside them.
As well as our talented line-up, on the night we’ll pull back the velvet curtain and set the stage for open mic slots and members of the audience will have a chance to read their own erotica. Do you have a Substack of kinky poetry? Or a notes app folder filled with short stories and smut? Whatever piece you’d like to share, the sign up sheet is live and waiting here. EROTIQUE’s name is inspired by the famed anthology Erotique Noire: Black Erotica edited by Miriam DeCosta-Willis, Reginald Martin, and Roseann P. Bell and as a result the stage is for the voices and performances of those who are Black and of the Global Majority, but all are welcome to attend. We pride ourselves on being an inclusive space.
Please note that we will be using the basement of the Dalston location, which currently is only accessible by stairs.
