Hello stompers!
We've had to change our October hike from Wolstonbury Hill to Devils Dyke! This is due to a rail replacement bus operating over the weekend meaning we can't easily get to Hassocks! We will save Wolstonbury Hill for another time.
Key Info :
- DISTANCE : 12.9 km
- ASCENT : 234m
- DURATION : 3-4 hours
- TERRAIN : Offroad with some uneven and steep sections
Meeting Point :
We'll be meeting at Brighton Station in the morning and taking the train to Portslade. Ticket holders can join at stops along the way if they're more convenient, or meet at our arrival time at Portslade Station, which can also be reached by bus or car. Full timings will be shared with stompers approx 72 hours before the stomp.
General Info:
Dykeing Boots (@dykeingboots) is a community of dykes, queers and allies based in Brighton and Hove.
All are welcome on our walks and we do not tolerate any transphobia, racism, homophobia, sexism, ableism or any similar shite
🍁 We'll take this stomp at a steady & relaxed pace, with a couple of breaks for food & water.
🥾 As always, we cannot predict the British weather - please ensure you have appropriate and comfortable footwear and clothing for the stomp and are prepared for some mud or slippiness.
🍻 We will book a pub for anyone who wants to stick around after the stomp.
🐕 We LOVE having dogs on our stomps, and ask that before you decide whether to bring a furry friend along you read the countryside code guidance linked here and agree to follow the guidance when with Dykeing Boots. Basically, you are responsible for your pup so keep them in your sight and make sure to clean up after them
💷 We operate on a pay what you feel basis. Please know your ticket is valid whatever you pay, including if you get a free ticket. If you can pay, the suggested donation is £3 - all of this money goes back into the running of Dykeing Boots and towards our travel support fund.
🎟️ We cap the number of tickets for our stomps to keep numbers manageable & social :
- If the stomp is sold out, add yourself to the waitlist!
To ensure you don't miss an update, mark “info@outsavvy.com” as a safe sender in your inbox - If you can no-longer attend, please use OutSavvy Resell or choose to Cancel your ticket (both available up to 12 hours before the stomp) to give another stomper the opportunity to attend.
🚨If you need any support paying for your travel to and from the walk please email dykeingboots@gmail.com with your bank details and we will send you enough to cover it, no questions asked🚨
