Mythical Creature comic / creative workshop
If there was a magical creature who supported you with your wellbeing in some way, what might they be like? Or do you have a story, memory or idea about a
mythical creature you'd like to explore?
The trans sea creature known to some as The Mollusc Dimension invites you to create a mini-comic about a mythical being. Maybe they help you in vital or
unexpected ways... How did you meet them? What do you talk about?
WHAT WE WILL DO:
Gather online via ESA NE (using Zoom). The Mollusc Dimension will give you prompts to create a mini comic (eg. a short story) about an imaginary creature. You're welcome to share your
creation with the group. (Sharing is optional).
THINGS TO BRING:
• Something to draw or write on - such as 1-3 sheets of paper, a sketchbook or a
notepad.
• Something to draw or write with - such as pen/s, pencil/s.
• An idea for a mythical creature (you're welcome to imagine your creature in the
session).
• A sense of curiosity!
If you would struggle with materials for this event, please email esa.northeast@gmail.com and we will do our best to support you with this.
WHAT IF I HAVE NEVER DRAWN A COMIC BEFORE?
No experience of creating comics needed. People new to comics are especially welcome!
Your response might be a sketch, comic, scribbles, a poem or something else.
Feel free to show up as you are.
You are welcome to try prompts, change them or ignore
them and follow your creative instinct, or share the space in a way that feels comfortable
and kind to yourself.
You might be interested to stay and hear what other people have
created.
ACCESS:
If you have any questions and particular access requests and/or info you'd like to share with the organisers, please reach out to esa.northeast@gmail.com
