Ever wanted to give rugby a go but weren't sure it was for you? Come and play with us.
The London Stags are South London's queer rugby club, and on 24 October we're opening our doors for a free Touch New Members' Day. Touch is a fast, non-contact version of rugby.
Our Touch team is mixed and open to every gender. FLINTA players are very welcome: women, lesbians, intersex, non-binary, trans and agender. You don't need to be athletic and you don't need to know the rules and people of all ages, shapes and fitness levels play.
We published some Q&A on our insta page @thelondonstagsrfc, feel free to check it out!
After you sign up on Outsavvy: that's it, you're all set! Once you've registered on OutSavvy there's nothing else you need to do, just turn up on the day. Got a question before then? Message us on Instagram at any time. Our membership officers reply to every DM.
On the day: you'll rotate through some stations run by our coach, then play a short, friendly game together. Afterwards the clubhouse stays open, so stick around for a drink and get to know the team and other new members.
Coming alone? No problem at all. You'll be with a group of other first-timers, and someone will be there to say hi when you arrive.
What to bring: trainers, comfy sports clothes and a water bottle. There are toilets, showers and private changing rooms in the clubhouse.
What's next: if you enjoy it, the day leads straight into First Touch, our free four-week beginners' programme (Saturdays, 31 October to 21 November). It takes you from the basics to your first proper game. No problem if you miss a session, you can jump in any week.
See you on the 24th!
The London Stags has been shortlisted for the Inclusive Club of the Year prize, by Out for Sport UK.
