Unfairly maligned by audience members and its own director, David Fincher's debut feature comes to our basement screen from the Assembly Cut.
Widely considered superior to the theatrical version, this edit is the closest thing to a Director's Cut available seeing as Fincher flatly refused to be involved in an updated version of the film.
Featuring a brutal disregard for marketability, and the kind of audience courted by the previous instalment, Alien 3 (1992) is an industrial hellscape that sees a traumatised Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) trapped on a prison planet full of sex criminals who are about to discover that a bruised heroine isn't the only thing that rode down in the crash landing.
Bleak, vicious, and rich in atmosphere, Alien 3 (1992) is one for the real heads only.
