Help us build a sustainable home for queer arts, culture, movement & community
PRESS PLAY is a queer, intersectional social residency bringing people together through music, dance, creativity, movement, food, self-expression and genuine connection.
Since starting Press Play, we’ve been building something we really believe in; a space where people can come as they are, meet new people, discover creatives, dance, play, connect and experience queer joy in community.
And we want to keep going.
We need your help to make PRESS PLAY sustainable.
The reality is that ticket revenue alone currently isn't enough to sustain the project.
The cost of curating these events continues to rise; from venue hire and catering to paying performers, artists and DJs, as well as printing, marketing, production and all the many behind-the-scenes costs involved in bringing an event like Press Play to life.
At the moment, we don't have other reliable income or revenue streams to support this work, and we don't want the answer to be simply increasing ticket prices.
We want Press Play to remain accessible, community-focused and welcoming to people with different financial circumstances.
So we're asking our community:

You can make a one-off contribution through this fundraiser, or choose to Pay It Forward and help someone else access Press Play. But we also know that not everyone has spare money, and that's completely understandable in the current circumstances.
We believe our community has an incredible amount of knowledge, creativity, experience, skills and connections that could help PRESS PLAY grow in ways that aren't simply financial.

We don't have all the answers.
We're interested in creative, collaborative and sustainable ways of building Press Play, including ideas we haven't thought of yet.
Our ambition isn't just to put on more events. It's to create something that can grow into a sustainable platform for queer arts, culture, creativity, movement and community; a space that proudly showcases artists and creatives, supports local businesses and startups, creates opportunities for connection and continues to bring people together in a genuinely welcoming environment.
