Join us for a relaxed, intimate evening of stunning, soulful sounds at Green on the Lanes, as part of their event series ‘Green Lates presents: suval & friends'.
What is suval and friends?
An artist showcase, creating a space to platform queer and trans artists and their allies to come together, perform beautiful music, and raise money for the Trans Legal Clinic.
What is the Trans Legal Clinic?
The Trans Legal Clinic is a grassroots, trans-led legal clinic providing free, high-quality legal help to trans and non-binary people across the UK. They exist because trans people are systematically denied access to justice.
Their work is grounded in community need and lived experience. They support people facing homelessness, gender-based violence, discrimination, and legal erasure, through their gender recognition service, taking on the cases others won’t.
Every aspect of the clinic is shaped by and for trans people, with an approach rooted in care, solidarity, and resistance. They're volunteer-powered, survivor-informed, and uncompromising in their values. In a system designed to exclude us, they're building the legal infrastructure our community needs to survive, fight back and make our voices heard.
Who are the performers?
We have an amazing line up of incredibly talented artists performing across the 2 nights. Here is some more information about them (in alphabetical order - line-up for each night can be found below):
Albert Gold (he/him)
East London born and bred, Albert Gold’s music brings a confessional edge to alternative soul, intersecting with pop and funk sounds to create a truly contemporary sound.
Inspired by soul, trip-hop , pop and gospel, with influences ranging from Massive Attack to Donny Hathaway, Albert is drawn to big voices and big feelings, and his music certainly contains a lot of both.
A pulsating blend of electro-pop running under his old school vocals, Albert’s music evokes emotional frankness, serving a slice of his soul alongside a sound that recalls the best of Luther, Sade and Earth Wind And Fire.
Ayeisha Raquel (she/her)
Singer-songwriter of Filipino-Ugandan heritage, writes songs borne of her personal journey, distilling her experiences with mental health and self improvement, sensuality and intimacy, the pains and joys of love into music that moves the soul. Her voice coupled with exceptional production on any means, she is not genre bound. From Rhythm & Grime to alt-R&B; to songs that are more experimental, Ayeisha does not shy away from an opportunity to be a part of an electric musical collaboration.
Ayeisha has been capturing crowds since her childhood and has continued on having opened for Che Lingo, Demae, Qhairo, Lex Amor, Meron T. Her vocals have blessed songs by EMIL, Mick Jenkins, Bawo, nikhil, Hagan, Lex Amor, ENNY, Knucks and A2. Ayeisha is steadily growing after her hiatus, capturing her audience with her dulcet vocals and authenticity permeating her songwriting.
Belle Antoinette (she/they)
Belle Antoinette is a pop-provocateur who finds beauty in the undefinable. She stands with the gender rebels, the underdogs, and outcasts. Through boundless curiosity and an experimental, genre-neutral approach to music, Belle searches for the flowers that grow between the cracks. She’s a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and producer who draws inspiration from Hyperpop, Glam-Rock, Metal, Jazz and Neo-Soul. Through her music she wants to hold a mirror up to our world - one which glorifies conformity and punishes difference - in hope of being part of the force that changes it.
Robin Simões da Silva (he/they)
Robin Simões da Silva is a London-based singer/songwriter and actor, with an emotionally intimate and sonically expansive sound. Having grown up in Wollongong, Australia, he played his first gig at a local folk festival, aged 11. After moving to the UK by themself at 18, they began a successful acting career and went on to become one of the first openly transgender leads in a West End musical. His music moves seamlessly from sad-girl bedroom folk to aggressive alt-pop, usually written on his acoustic guitar with words scribbled in a notebook. His debut EP, Confessions, will be released in December this year.
suval (he/him)
suval is a London-based queer singer-songwriter making soulful, atmospheric music with a curious streak. Blending alt-R&B, pop soul and singer-songwriter sensibilities, his sound pairs intimate storytelling and powerful, expressive vocals with unexpected sounds, playful energy and a healthy dose of emotional chaos.
After years working as a session singer, suval began releasing his own music earlier this year, culminating in his debut four-track EP Never Enough. Since then, a series of live performances and an evolving approach to songwriting have opened up new creative possibilities, with his latest work embracing a more expansive, confident and mischievous side of his artistry.
At its heart, suval's songwriting is about people, relationships and the messy business of being human. Emotionally honest but never too relentlessly earnest, his songs find room for vulnerability, desire, humour and the occasional questionable romantic decision.
