NHS Guidelines Vent Session
I wanted to host a space for us to vent following the proposed NHS guidelines which will impact us all. Although this session will not directly be about death, it felt important for me as a trans death worker to host this space as the guidelines will undoubtedly lead to trans people not being able to access care (even more than before) and will lead to trans people needlessly dying, as we have already seen happen in the heartbreaking case of Joelle.
I’m inviting my trans siblings to come together to share concerns, stories, DIY leads, community care strategies and to simply vent. When a system fails to provide us with even the most basic care, we will need each other more than ever. As a death worker, my work doesn’t just focus on the “end point” but also on the importance of the care received both before and after death, especially when it comes to providing dignified care for trans people at end of life.
This session is for trans people only, please respect this.
