Understanding the Philippines' Peasant Struggle
Join us for a special joint session of Dandelion with Anakbayan UK, dedicated to Peasants Month in the Philippines.
garden ~ pickle ~ discuss
~ bpoc only event!
garden ~ help us weed our beds and harvest daikon/mooli/labanos and carrots to make room for more overwinting veggies. We'll also learn about the various Filipino and other culturally important heritage food crops we are growing.
pickle ~ learn how to make atchara, a simple Filipino pickle, made from our harvest. Make sure to bring a clean jar if you'd like to take some home!
discuss ~ we'll learn about histories of land dispossession and the struggle for genuine land reform in the Philippines and in the UK. Together, we will reflect on modes of resistance, sovereignty, and connection as racialised folks of the Global Majority.
