The conflict in Ukraine persists into its fifth year and working-class people in the UK and abroad continue to pay the highest price.
The Prime Minister and other European leaders obsess over rearmament and increasing military spending. We have a Russophobic media and political class which is actively selling war to the public. Meanwhile, social services are being cut to the bone to purchase military hardware from the US and to finance the war in Ukraine.
Join the Lewisham and Greenwich CND and Lewisham Stop the War Coalition to discuss why we must demand welfare, not warfare with Russia.
We must reject this high-risk, proxy conflict, and instead push for a stable, lasting peace rooted in structural neutrality and diplomatic compromise. We also need to invest in real security in the UK: healthcare, housing, education, and renewable energy.
