A pub quiz for dykes, hosted by drag king Billy Butch, including drag performances.
Doors at 7pm, quiz starts at 7:30pm.
Teams from 2-8 people welcome. Solo quizzers are encouraged - there will be a table reserved for you to make a team together on the night.
Who is this event for?
Our pub quiz is exclusively for dykes and other queer people of marginalised genders. We ask that if you are not a member of one of these groups, that you do not buy a ticket for this event to ensure more of our community are able to attend. Please note that we do not police this policy, and ask that attendees do not try to police this policy themselves.
Tickets
We used a tiered ticket pricing system. If you are able to buy a more expensive ticket, please do as this enables us to keep cheaper ticket options available for people who need them whilst also being able to use profits from this event to cover our running costs, keep us going, and help us run other, free events for dykes in Leeds.
SET YOUR ALARMS - Tickets will go on sale Wednesday 28th October at 6pm.
Venue and accessibility
The event will take place in the event space at Headrow House (19a The Headrow, Leeds, LS1 6PU).
Headrow House is a varied venue with a Beer Hall, restaurant and roof terrace hosting regular arts and music events. Headrow House has step free access throughout the venue, with the exception of the Kennedy Meadows upper roof terrace. Each floor can be accessed via a lift, which can be found in the main entrance. There is 1 accessible toilet within the building, which can be accessed via the lift or stairs. The disabled access toilet has grab rails and an alarm, in case you may need any assistance. There are gendered toilets in the building, accessible via stairs, as well as gender neutral toilets located to the rear of the lower terrace. The main entrance to access Ox Club is step free, with the main bar opposite having 2 steps up, or access via the lift.
Quizzers will sit at tables with benches. You may be placed on a table with another team depending on team sizes. There will be no flashing lights used at the event. We do not have a BSL interpreter.
Safer spaces
We are striving to make Dirt Dykes a safe space, but are aware that we can’t control the behaviour of all people in the space. We ask attendees to recognise that making the space as safe as we can requires a collective effort from all attending. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any sort of discrimination, harassment, or non-consensual behaviour, including towards staff and performers. We also expect that attendees will not question if others should be in the space, and will show respect to fellow dykes in the room.
If anyone is making you feel unsafe on the night, or if you have any other issues, please speak to one of our staff.
By buying a ticket for Dirt Dykes you agree to be responsible for your own behaviour, to not behave in a way that puts yourself or anyone else at risk, and to be respectful to all people in the space. If we believe you are behaving in a manner that is dangerous or disrespectful, you will be asked to leave the event and will not be offered a refund.
