Join us for a relaxed and friendly portrait session at Friendly Faces, a welcoming space for artists of all experience levels to draw, connect, and develop their portrait practice.
This session follows our popular Session 2 format, where conversation, connection and natural movement are encouraged throughout the evening. Rather than treating the sitter as a still object, we explore what it means to draw a real person. After all, a portrait sitter is not a bowl of fruit.
Whether you're a regular attendee or joining us for the first time, you'll find a warm and supportive atmosphere where creativity and conversation sit side by side. Bring your preferred drawing materials and settle in for an evening of observation, portrait-making and shared experience.
This event will feature a guest model, offering artists the opportunity to work with a fresh face while maintaining the welcoming spirit that Friendly Faces is known for. Sitters are welcome to speak, move, fidget and be themselves throughout the session. If you're nervous about posing, there's no expectation of remaining perfectly still. The focus is on observation, connection and creative exchange.
As the session unfolds, artist and sitter gradually settle into one another's presence, allowing personality, conversation and shared experience to become part of the portrait itself.
We draw, chat, meet new people and enjoy a gentle creative atmosphere together. If you'd prefer not to pose, that's completely fine. You can opt out at any time.
