THE BODY COMPLEX
Join us for our second day of screenings, with a collection of films exploring the socio-cultural dimensions of pleasure, expression and bodily autonomy. From the politics of visibility and the performance of desire to the complexities of sexual identity and cultural bias, these films explore the body as both a vessel of experience and a site of wider cultural negotiation. How does culture create and enforce biases against our own bodies? What can adult cinema do to deshame us and disarm our assumptions about pleasure and desirability?
We're bringing you a stunning line-up of erotic films, from Ben Nordmann’s Courage for (Undisabled) Lust, following one woman’s journey towards sexual liberation with a supportive sex worker, to Antonio Da Silva’s docu-porn Gingers, exploring the cultural lore, sexual mythology and alleged virility of the redhead.
This event celebrates filmmakers and artists who use sex to uncover diversities in desire, connection and configurations of the body, with works from Antonio Da Silva, Ben Nordmann, La Fille Renne, Levon Babayan and many more.
ADULTS ONLY — 18+
This screening is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Admission is subject to applicable UK legislation, film classification requirements and venue licensing conditions. Valid photo ID may be requested.
