Forge: Office Party
FORGE is a new artist-run gathering of moving image + performance + word, loosely centred on a different premise or theme for each edition. We invite artists to show, connect and exchange feedback on their work. The next Forge event is titled ‘Office Party’ and will be held at Margate Arts Club on Wednesday 9th December 2026, 6-9pm ish, doors 6pm, starts 6.30pm. Free entry and all welcome. There will be the opportunity for discussion and drinks will be available from the bar.OPEN CALLOFFICE PARTY is thematically situated in that awkward hinterland where reverence for the coming winter solstice - the return of the light - is corrupted by the seasonal pressures of consumerist, societal and familial obligations: a time of togetherness, loneliness and debt. The Christmas office party becomes a container of spillages for all the joys and ills of the extractive capitalist machine. Anything could happen tonight, so get in touch if you’d like to screen a film or read or perform something new. Think of your contribution in the spirit of an office ‘Secret Santa’ (iykuk), and you really can’t go wrong…To participate please fill out the form (even if you haven't written/made/devised the thing yet)as early as possible and by 16 November latest. We will get back to you by 30 November. Then come join us on Wednesday 9th December @margateartsclub for an office party like no other.
