LGBTI issues and Human Rights Law in Scotland
Tickets Off Sale
A National Taskforce for Human Rights Leadership is putting together recommendations to the Scottish Government for a new human rights law. This law would build on existing human rights laws to strengthen how all our rights are protected.
Equality Network is hosting this event to hear from members of our LGBTI community in Scotland about how they want this new human rights law to work. We want to know what people want included, if there are any areas or groups you think need specific protection under these laws, how best the government could spread information about these new laws to the public, and any other opinions you have.
This is still at a very early stage in the policy process, and the law will take a long time to reach Parliament. However, it currently has the possibility to prove to be a real step forward in Scotland’s protection of human rights and also will help keep Scotland making progress on human rights laws in the future.
Your feedback is vital to this process and will only make the law more inclusive, and more effective. If you would like to attend please sign up here and we will send details of the platform closer to the time.
If you require a BSL interpreter please let us know by Friday the 27th and one will be provided.
