"Struffoli" are among the most popular sweets of the Neapolitan Christmas tradition.
They are small balls of fried dough coated with honey and colorful sugar sprinkles or decorated with candied fruit and nuts.
There is only one problem....they are so good they can be addictive 😊😂
INGREDIENTS & SHOPPING LIST:
- 400 gr of all purpose flour
- 60 gr of sugar
- 80 gr of butter
- 3 eggs and 1 yolk
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- 50 ml of aniseed/fennel liqueur or Brandy/Rum
- 1 grated lemon rind
- 1 pinch of salt
- 400 gr of honey
- Abundant Peanut oil for frying about 600ml
- 50 gr of coloured sprinkles, candied fruit or crashed nuts to decorate
UTENSILS Required:
- 1 big bowl
- 1 grater
- clingfilm
- 1 chopping board
- 1 frying pan
- 1 dessert plate
- paper napkins
- 1 small pan
