YOU DON'T OWN ME is online festival programme celebrating Tales of Resistance by women and people of marginalised genders. DINA Venue is a not for profit arts organisation based in Sheffield, and we're working with our pals Reel Femme and Boxie, two female lead collectives working towards showcasing the work of women and people of marginalised genders in film and music.
This online festival encompasses a number of events detailed below. Tickets are available at a range of prices depending on your situation through the ticketing website OUTSAVVY, an LGBTQ company that allows for customers to donate to their charity partners. We'll also donate £2 from each standard ticket bought to the fabulous Sheffield charity LASS (Lesbian Asylum Support Sheffield).
PROGRAMME 6 - 13 March
6 March, 8pm - Boxie are excited to platform a selection of songwriters and instrumentalists navigating making music during the pandemic, finding ways to tell their stories, resist, rebel and thrive during the new musical landscape.
8 March - So excited to reveal a new outside mural we’ve commissioned by Zoe Genders to celebrate International Women’s Day in Fitzalan Square outside of our new headquarters :-)
12 March, 7pm-8pm - We’ll be hosting a networking event online as we miss chatting to everyone! Boxie and Reel Femme will be there, it’s a space to chat about themes surrounding the festival and just say hello.
13 March, 8pm - Reel Femme curate a selection of short films celebrating themes of resistance, with closing Q and A. All films directed by women and people of marginalised genders.
