About
Your favourite queer disco for common people returns. Head down to the scuzzy back room of The Victoria for some Pulp / faggy indie / post punk / new wave for beatniks, dirtbags and lumberjacks. Enter through the bookcase door…
This month we’ve got some badass guest DJs - Billy Easter, Andrew Milk and Rachel Aggs from Shopping, one of our fave queer bands! They’re on a mission to bring camp and queerness back to punk with their fast drums, catchy hooks and post-punk strutting. Which we’re totally down with.
They’ll be joining PG residents Pencil Skirt & Seductive Barry on the decks. We play Pulp and stuff like this:
Alanis. Arcade Fire. Ash. Bikini Kill. Billy Idol. Bowie. The B-52s. The Cure. The Clash. Camera Obscura. Dandy Warhols. Elastica. Franz Ferdinand. Garbage. The Hives. Hole. Iggy Pop. Kate Bush. Kenickie. The Kills. Joy Division. The Julie Ruin. LCD Soundsystem. Le Tigre. The Long Blondes. Manic Street Preachers. Morrissey. My Life Story. New Order. Nirvana. Orange Juice. Patti Smith. Pixies. PJ Harvey. Placebo. Pretenders. Talking Heads. Radiohead. The Ramones. Roxy Music. Sleater Kinney. Sleeper. The Smiths. The Strokes. Suede. Tame Impala. Violent Femmes. Weezer. Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
So... don those NHS specs, smear that lipgloss on and grab a ticket. Like Jarvis sang, we don't care what you wear. As long as it's pink and it's tight. See you on the dancefloor.
