Title: City of Quebec: A History
IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE HISTORY OF THE OLDEST QUEER PUB IN LONDON.
75 years ago, out of the ashes of the Blitz came the City of Quebec, London’s oldest still functioning venue for queer people. From the times when homsexuality was still illegal, through Gay Liberation Movement, AIDS Epidemic until Marriage Equality Act, it has been a place where queer people could find love, acceptance, freedom, Pride. Written by a bold new queer voice, this immersive play brings history to life in the exact spot where it happened.
Telling stories such those of a Noel Coward actor questioning their gender identity, a respected war veteran who has to choose between love and his reputation, a drug addict who has to survive on the AIDS ridden scene or young couples debating the options of marriage. City of Quebec: A History celebrates where we came from and gives us hope for where we’re going.
