Babes and Botanicals Life Drawing Class - Celebrating your body! Open mic style
Join us for an evening of plant filled life drawing. Starting off with model Meg, then with an opportunity to take to the stage and try out modelling yourself. You are a work of art that deserves to be empowered, seen and celebrated!
There are 8 modelling spaces up for grabs, guided by Polly of Babes and Botanicals, in a relaxed and friendly Queer environment.
You are welcome to model solo or as a group. Nudity is totally optional, any state of clothed or undressed is encouraged.
Experienced life drawers/models and novices are all welcome!
Please note the event space is alcohol free. You are welcome to purchase and enjoy alcoholic beverages in the ground floor bar prior and after the event. During the event only soft and hot drinks are allowed.
Event attendees receive 20% off drinks in the bar.
The event space is in the basement, when you arrive please go through the bar and down the stairs.

Who runs Babes and Botanicals?
Babes and Botanicals is ran by Polly (She/Her), a Queer Art Babe based in East London.
Polly creates Botanical Portraits of Babes living their best lives. Alongside making her own work she runs plant-filled Life Drawing & Lino Print workshops for all abilities. Her artwork and classes aim to celebrate under-represented and marginalised bodies. Helping people feel seen, uplifted and empowered.
What is Life drawing?
A live drawing class featuring a nude model presenting varying and multiple poses.
What if I've never done life drawing?
People who have no experience have attended workshops and throughly enjoyed the experience. The class is mainly about enjoying a creative experience, not making perfect results. You will also be guided throughout the evening and given help where needed.
What is Glass House?
An exciting new LGBTQIA+ multidisciplinary venue led by Glass House Projects. Their three spaces The Common Press (bookshop café), The Commons (multimedia events space) and The Common Counter (restaurant & bar-coming soon) offer a hub for London's diverse creatives and community to thrive. The venue is situated in Brick Lane, Shoreditch.
What if I don't identify as LGBTQIA+, can I still attend the workshop?
The workshop is primarily a space for Queer people however respectful allies are welcome.
Is it accessible?
The ground floor of Glass House is accessible, with accessible toilet access. However the event space is in the basement down a set of stairs.
Do I need to bring anything?
All materials are provided however you are welcome to bring your own as-well.
Event time:
The event starts at 7pm, please arrive promptly so we can start the class on time.
Photos and filming:
Please do not take photos or videos of the model during the life drawing class. You are welcome to take photos/videos during the rest of the workshop. We'd love it if you can tag any content on instagram with the accounts @babes_and_botanicals, @fatmeglifemodel and @glasshouselondon
