Wednesday 26th October 2022 we welcome Timothy Adès and the title of his talk is:
"Rhyming Translation: The Impossible"
Timothy is a translator-poet, prolific and widely published, working mostly with rhyme and metre. He has books from French, of Victor Hugo, Robert Desnos, and Jean Cassou; awards for these poets and for the Mexican Alfonso Reyes; another Spanish book, and two Germans to come. He rewrote all Shakespeare’s 154 Sonnets without using letter E.
He translates from Greek and into Latin. He is a trustee of Agenda poetry magazine, is active on YouTube and Facebook, and runs a poetry translation bookstall.
