Celebrate and dance so free… One More Time! We're back and into this millennium!
[Darkchild] It's Y2K and pop music is still riding high - from the uplifting sounds of Steps and S Club 7 to the sleek sophisticated sounds of Destiny's Child, with a sprinkling of dance music. Victoria Beckham (and Dane Bowers) went head to head against Spiller and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Billie Piper returned for her pop princess crown and Kylie spun round and back into the charts.
The world was introduced to Daphne & Celeste and Samantha Mumba, pop fans saw the return of All Saints, Spice Girls, Madonna and Louise and the charts were awash with A listers from America including Britney, Christina, Backstreet Boys and *NSync. Madison Avenue, Sonique and Modjo headlined the dance acts amongst a sea of garage and trance music (including the Big Brother theme!).
We’ll be playing the A list popstars from 2000 along with B listers like Scooch, Supersister and Richard Blackwood along with loads of other pop and dance hits from 2000. Expect loads of forgotten gems you're unlikely to hear anywhere else (from Point Break to Madasun and Jessica Simpson).
