Introducing La Salonnière, our new queer-friendly variety show.
This is the fifth edition.
La Salonnière: The Comedy and Spoken Word edition.
Hosted by the fabulous Rosie Wilby.

- Join award-winning comedian and ‘queen of breakups’ Rosie Wilby for a comedy literary soirée investigating the psychology of attraction and heartbreak. Rosie, who has performed on Radio 4 and at major festivals across the world, will present standup and read from her two award-winning books Is Monogamy Dead? and The Breakup Monologues to explore some of the fascinating scientific and cultural facts she has learned about love over the last decade. She has participated in a ‘sex lab’, conducted surveys about ‘what counts as cheating?’ and performed comedy at a sex party - all in the name of ‘research’. Rosie will be signing copies of her books on the night. Alternatively you can check out The Breakup Monologues, published by Bloomsbury, right here: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Breakup-Monologues-Unexpected-Joy-Heartbreak/dp/1472982304
Our incredible performers include:

- Farah Sharp is a half English-half Egyptian comedian based in London. Her stand-up is built on a selection of calamitous anecdotes, and what she has(n't) learnt from them. She was a semi-finalist in the 2Northdown New Act Competition and a finalist in the Musical Comedy Awards with her trio "DING" in 2021.

- Saara M. Scharlin (poetry) is a photographic artist and writer who runs as a type of therapy. Her book “Daily Exercise” (2021) is an intimate journey through queer heartbreak, long-distance, mental health triggers, and physical injury, that illustrates through photographs and poems how embracing our cosmic potential can pull us out from depression and disorder. In times of loss, she invites us to explore daily practices towards raw healing.
We are looking forward to hosting you!
