A free day-long event exploring London's queer heritage and significance including a workshop on mapping queer identity. Led by Dani Singer and Dan de la Motte from Queer Tours of London.
Join Dani and Dan from Queer Tours of London for a free queer tour of London's Theatreland and West End, taking in incredible true stories about some of London's better and lesser-known queer performance icons from the decades before decriminalisation, including 'the cult of the clitoris' and Polari - the secret gay code. Then off to the iconic Bishopsgate Institute (home of the Queer Tours of London archive) for a free workshop on 'mapping your own queer routes/roots'.
The workshop invites you to consider an area of your choosing, perhaps where you live, where you grew up, or simply where you had one unforgettable night out! Using personal and cultural archiving, we'll guide you though the creation of your own queer route/roots map, and consider how our intersecting cultural queerstories create a wider web of community.
