Ours is a practice of tenderness with teeth, like a fairy that bites.
OUCH! A fairy bit me… is a volunteer-run creative community based between London and Berlin whose practice centres around the use of art as a tool of care and change in a world of neglect. We aim to cultivate a pressure-free space for self-expression, regardless of experience or skill level, and to give passionate people a platform to realise their ideas.
Exhausted by the prevailing culture of individualism we create space for collective thinking through exhibitions, parties, and performances, as well as through regular gatherings in the shape of workshops, book swaps, free yoga classes, and knowledge sharing, to name a few. These community meet-ups take place monthly in each city and are open to all. Our goal is to create an environment where new systems can emerge and people can ease into change together, prioritising mutual love, trust and care.
Among the events previously organised by OUCH! A fairy bit me… are two exhibitions in Berlin, movement workshops, a clothing swap and mending workshop, a tattoo flash day and artist market, and a zine workshop.
