Hello, I'm Taz, a 36-year old queer British Asian woman in south London. I sometimes collaborate with others to put on the events on this page.
Like many people, Israel's crimes against humanity make me sick, and the complicity of our governments and the biggest companies on the planet disgusts me.
Google is one of those companies. It's a company that once had the motto ādon't be evilā, and is now a āpressure targetā for the Boycott Divestment Sanctions movement. Google is actively helping Israel increase its capacity to wipe out Palestinians. It's firing employees who speak out against it, smearing the people publishing research about it, covering up Israelās crimes and removing evidence of them.
I'm not an organisation, or a professional activist, and I'm not a techy person at all. I'm just someone who was up to their eyeballs in Google apps, and in 2025 I started setting up messaging groups and spaces where we can help each other move away from Google together.
Roughly a year on, in 2026, there are around 30 of us in a Signal group called āš Dumping Google togetherā. We started by helping each other move away from Google, but we understand that Big Tech companies in general are awful, and we help each other move away from those too. This is a group of people helping each other through acting together, motivating each other, and sharing what we know. It's primarily for everyday tech users, and you shouldn't need to be a tech hobbyist or professional to understand the conversation.
When we organise activities together, we sometimes put them on OutSavvy so that anyone else can join too.

No pressure to have done anything at all yet to boycott Big Tech. If you're thinking of reducing your dependency on Google, even by just an app or two, then this is a good place to come.
This is not the only thing we can do to untangle ourselves from the genocide economy. But it's one thing.
