Hi, I'm Kirstie Trew. I'm a Tattooist, artist and creative practitioner from Birmingham.
I'm the owner and founder of KTREW Tattoo, a queer-owned private tattoo studio in the heart of Birmingham's Gay Village.
- I tattoo in a range of styles, but am known for my fineline and linework style. You can check out my Tattoo work @kirstietrew on Instagram
- I specialise in naive-style or ignorant-style imaginary creatures and abstract designs.
- My approach is rooted in a love of bringing the imaginary to life, and the world building that comes naturally with this process.
Beyond tattooing, I make art and I facilitate hands-on arts & craft workshops for local CICs and the wider community.
I offer innovative and original workshop ideas that encourage imagination and story telling including:
- My ‘Sigil Keeper’ Paper Mache Workshop
- My ‘Stop Animation Diorama' Workshop
- My ‘Junk & Joy: Alternative Christmas Wreath' Workshop
I have my own sustainable fashion brand ‘Out•Habit Clothing’ where I upcycle and hand print onto carefully chosen thrifted clothing.
I offer freelance Sustainable Fashion Co-ordination & delivery for Sustainable Fashion Workshops & Events including:
- My ‘Fabric Identification & Fabric Burn Test’ Workshop
- Clothes Swaps
- Basic mending and sewing techniques
- Sustainable Styling
- Clothing Upcycling
My approach is playful, resourceful, and rooted in a love for upcycling. I'm open to collaboration with other creatives, businesses and community organisations.
