✨Come to our sculpture classes on Tuesday nights starting January 2023 ✨
We will be sculpting a nude model in clay with a wire amature provided by our instructors.
Our sculpture classes are small and intimate in a beautiful ballroom above the Balham Bowls Club.
The class is designed for all abilities and we specifically support beginners throughout the evening.
Perfect for artistic pursuits, the best date night ever or a relaxed alternative night out with a friend 🥂
Who are we? Red Art Club is a small, independent business ran by a group of artists.
We also run life drawing classes on Wednesdays and Fridays in Clapham Common
All sculpture materials are provided. These are: 1kg clay per student, clay tools, prepped armature, wire tools, a wooden board, an A3 canvas board, paper and drawing materials.
We provide block reservations for groups. In order to book a group of seats together please email us redartclub@hotmail.com with your name and group size so we can seat you all together.
ITINERARY
Please arrive before the session to pick up a drink from the bar at Balham Bowls Club and to get settled.
Please ensure you wear clothes that you do not mind getting messy.
- 6:30pm Introductory talk, introducing materials and outline of course
- 6:40 pm life drawing exercise followed by posing the armature
- 7pm demonstration on applying clay to armature
- 7:30pm quick break to give the model some time to stretch before we begin the main sculpture pose.
- 7:45pm building upon sculpture
- 8pm demonstration on how to add clay to sculpture
- 8:30pm demonstration on detailing sculpture
- 9pm break from session to give model some time to stretch
- 9:10pm demonstration on detailing and smoothing sculpture
- Rest of session specific instruction given to individuals on how best to improve their sculpture
⭐️ We also give babysitting instructions on how to care for your sculpture after the class in order to help you preserve your sculpture in the best way possible ⭐️
