More about Oedipussi Rex
Oedipussi Rex is truly the stuff of legend - i.e, Loud, chaotic and wildly inconsistent. The ‘Beardiest’ of Drag Barbarians and all around ‘hot mess’, this hairy beast has been pillaging his way internationally across the land for longer that he is able to count, leaving piles of eco glitter, wool and the echoes of hardcore kazoo solos in his wake. Want to see Oedi in action, get tickets to the King & Caboodle Cabaret happening in Glasgow the same day as the workshop.
Off stage, Oedi has worked as a professional prop maker in film TV and theatre since 2015, and has a PGCert in Performance Teaching (Prop Skills). When not working for different production studios, he also makes bespoke costumes and props for himself and other cabaret artists around the UK. In his own work, he specialises in using recycled materials to build elaborate wigs and beards on a shoestring budget, though he will happily answer any burning questions about more advanced or specialised prop making techniques. The weirdest prop he has ever made was a burlesque cat anus, and his favourite was a remote controlled mirror ball that dropped confetti.
