About Becca Parkinson and Ly Orrock
Becca Parkinson
My work explores physical encounters between the human body and the earth body while working with movement, soundscapes, ritual, performance, healing practices. I have a deep love of the wild, feeling most at home amongst the granite, waters, moss and trees of Dartmoor. The workshops and classes I run are inspired by intensive study with Helen Poynor whom I’ve studied Environmental Movement with for the last twelve years. Other influences include studying with Suprapto Suryodarmo (Prapto), a Javanese movement artist, Northern Drum Shamanic. Practice, long term study of Somatic Movement, along with ongoing explorations in Butoh and artistic practice. I run an eco psychotherapy private practice in Devon including; Dartington, Dartmoor and Ashburton. I am a fully qualified ADMP registered Dance Movement Psychotherapist (MA) Outdoor Nature Therapist (WIlderness Foundation) and Environmental Arts Therapist (SEAT). I have experience working in educational, NHS and creative arts settings. As a queer, non-binary therapist I hold inclusivity as central to my work.
Ly Orrock is a qualified Psychotherapist and Environmental Arts Therapist with a wealth of experience. They have worked across education, charities, local communities and currently work in the NHS as well as private practice. As a non-binary, queer, neurodiverse psychotherapist, Ly adopts inclusion at the heart of their therapeutic approach. "Nature does not exclude so why should we."
