Writing Class with Author & Activist Sarah Schulman

We're delighted to announce that the NYC author and activist, Sarah Schulman, will be teaching a free writing class over a weekend in November, co-organised by APROPOS. Whether you are already published or a complete beginner, you can apply for one of the ten places in her craft-based workshops which will cover the fundamentals of both fiction and non-fiction writing. There will be an opportunity to share your own work with others in the class and on the Monday, if you would like, receive one to one feedback from Sarah on your written work.You'll be required to attend the sessions on Sat Nov 18 & Sun Nov 19 Nov 2023 with optional attendance on Mon Nov 20 2023. 10am-1pm each day. Students who can't attend the Monday morning class will have the option to book one-on-one sessions with Sarah between 6pm-8pm.
About Sarah Schulman
Sarah Schulman is a novelist, playwright, screenwriter, nonfiction writer and AIDS historian. Her 20 books include the novels The Cosmopolitans (selected by Publishers Weekly as one of the best American novels of 2016), Maggie Terry (a radical reworking of police fiction) and the nonfiction book LET THE RECORD SHOW: A Political History of ACT UP, NY 1987-1993. She is on the advisory board of Jewish Voice for Peace, The Racial Imaginary, The Institute for the Critical Study of Zionism. Her plays include THE LADY HAMLET (Winner: Best New Play, Boston 2022) and SHIMMER a musical collaboration with composer Anthony Davis and lyricist Michael Korie.
