Our Queer Hiking Group for queer migrants and queer people of colour heads to a new trail each month, and for March, we’re heading out to the South Downs!
On Saturday 16th March, we’ll be running our next organised small group hike up to Devil's Dyke and the South Downs escarpment – a 12 mile linear trail leading up to one of the finest views in South East England.
This is a moderately challenging hike, with a few demanding ascents and descents, some narrow and overgrown paths, road and rail crossings, stiles, and some rougher ground. We may also be facing wet or windy weather on the day.
Overall, including travel time getting to and from London, the whole trip should take around 7-8 hours, and once again, we’ll be led by an experienced hiker and mountain leader trainee.
Travel to and from London is covered, but places are limited, so please sign up!
This event is being run by The Love Tank, as part of the Maureen Project.
MAUREEN is a project of The Love Tank CIC. The takes a holistic approach to addressing the health and wellbeing needs of queer migrant men and queer men of colour living in London, through research, coproduction, training and a range of events throughout the year. Through the project, participants collectively developed the Queer Roots and Routes podcast, which won the Sexuality and Relationships Independent Podcast Award.
