Birmingham Pride Parade is back Saturday 25th May 2024 and BFM will be marching/walking/wheeling in the parade again.
About the parade
The Birmingham Pride Parade march is one of the most important aspects of the entire festival weekend, enjoyed by tens of thousands of participants, walking, marching or aboard creatively decorated floats, and viewed by in excess of 75,000 spectators lining the streets of Birmingham.
Our Pride Parade is a march for equality and justice, after all there is no pride without protest. Our protest is relevant until every injustice to LGBTQ+ people around the world is brought to an end and universal equality is achieved.
Our vibrant parade is also a celebration of LGBTQ+ life, demonstrating our contribution to our community and our city.
About the event
This event is for the BFM walking group only - If you want to attend the main pride festival or gay village on the Saturday, you will need a separate ticket which is available here https://birminghampride.com
So that we know who is parading with us, we have set up this event for registration. There are 2 types of ticket available.
1 - Completely free (as is the parade) - just enter your details and that's it you are in the parade with BFM
2 - New for BFM this year - Pay what you can - This is a donation ticket, with a minimum fee of £1. If you choose this option BFM will match your donation (up to a maximum of £10). All monies raised from this donation will then be passed to our nominated charity of the year, which is The Albert Kennedy Trust, you can find out all about the work they do here akt.org.uk
We will meet at 10.30 am behind Birmingham Central Library in the peace garden.
We will hand out the flags/banners etc at the meet up point, you don't have to carry them all day.
We will head to our designated ‘spot’ for 11am. If you are running late; don't worry; we will post updates on X, Insta and in the FB Group.
Please remember to bring a non-alcoholic drink, it can be very warm waiting to get going, snacks too if you think you will need them.
After the parade we will meet as usual at the Fountain Inn (outside of the pay to enter area) for a sit down and a cold drink.
