Fringe! Queer Film & Arts Fest Shorts: The Draggery and the Ecstasy
In this euphoric programme, 3 longer shorts explore the importance and vibrance of queer “scenes”, both historically and in the now. Spaces and moments when folks who’ve been called perverts, freaks, batty boys raise their hands and allow themselves to be seen. Spanning from some of the first British gay men to congregate, to the alt-party culture developing in Salford under our current failed economy, to the journey of a voguer from St. Maartens to the Netherlands, underground gatherings are a vital life source for lgbtiqa+ people.
