Tygermylk
TYGERMYLK is the project of Hastings-based songwriter Hayley Harland, and co-host of Queer Ass Folk.
Blending etherial electronic elements with a nostalgic indie-rock band and unique lyrical perspectives, their forthcoming debut album, ‘Local Girl, Always Tired’ is an exciting come-back after multiple throat surgeries and challenging chronic illness.
TYGERMYLK first surfaced in 2017 at Brighton Pride with debut single “What God Would Keep Us Apart”, a heartbreaking ballad based on a true story from Harland’s teen years, which gained critical acclaim both in print and on BBC News. From their roots in a small town on the South Coast, a fierce advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and disability inclusivity, TYGERMYLK’s musical journey has become intertwined with a passionate commitment to activism.
In 2021, flexing into a more commercial pop style, Harland co-wrote, co-produced & performed on the soundtrack for Amazon Original series “Flack” starring Anna Paquin. Last year, they then made their live TV debut on Channel 4’s The Last Leg.
Previously heard at Glastonbury, The Isle of Wight Festival and on BBC Introducing, the open-heartedness at TYGERMYLK’s core is a skill developed from years of busking on London's Southbank and the Underground. The honesty they learned performing on the street
