Margate Pride Day 2025
🏳️⚧️🏳️🌈Saturday 9 August | 10am–8pm | Free entry🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
A full day of grassroots Pride: completely free, community-led, and corporate-free. Join us for a joyful and powerful celebration of LGBTQIA+ life, love, protest, and pride across Margate.
This year, all of our free events will be hosted on our outsavvy, making it easy for you to register and take part in as much or as little as you like — whether you’re coming for the march, the music, the drag, or just to soak up the vibes.
From morning picnics to late afternoon dancing, we’re inviting everyone to be part of a day that centres queer joy, protest, and visibility. And for the first time ever, our big afternoon takeover at Dreamland’s Scenic Stage is going on until 8pm and is completely free and open to all! 🎉
More details for each section of our Pride Festival in August will be coming soon. But for now, here are the basics:

✨ Access and Safety✨
Dreamland and Walpole Bay Lawns are both wheelchair accessible, with gender-neutral toilets, baby changing, welfare volunteers, and first aid on site. We’re working with queer welfare team Safe Only to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for all. More details can be found below.
Dreamland will also have a fully accessible toilet by Revolootion so everyone can participate in our Pride.
🦺Volunteers🦺
Margate Pride is a DIY grassroots Pride and cannot happen without our wonderful volunteers. There are several roles that need filling, and you play an essential part of the day!
For Pride day on 9th August, we have several shifts throughout the day. Roles include welcoming people at the ticket desk; directing people to the welfare tent if needed; smiling; answering questions; encouraging people to complete our essential feedback forms; dancing; helping with litter picking and directing visitors to bins! spreading joy and petting dogs.
We also need stewards in the parade! You will receive training beforehand (via zoom session) and a briefing on the day as well as being fed & watered.
Register to volunteer with Pride HERE.

Code of Conduct
All attendees, volunteers, partners, suppliers, and participants must adhere to Margate Pride CIC’s Code of Conduct. We ask this to ensure the safety, inclusion, and wellbeing of the LGBTQIA+ community — making Margate and beyond a safer and more joyful place.
For Parade Groups and Stallholders
- The Code of Conduct applies to everyone in your group or at your stall.
- You are collectively responsible for the behaviour of your group.
- Failure to comply may result in being asked to leave and could affect future participation.
For Spectators and Attendees
- Abuse or threatening behaviour of any kind will not be tolerated at any Margate Pride event.
- If you have concerns on the day, please speak to one of our trained stewards, who are positioned along the parade route and in key event areas to provide support.
Read our full Code of Conduct HERE.
How businesses can get involved
As we’re only inviting community groups to our pride, there will be no corporate or local business presence.
We deeply value your support, and there are still plenty of ways for businesses to get involved: from donating to Margate Pride, running a Pride promo, booking training from Margate Pirde, or volunteering staff for the many roles that help make Pride the safe, celebratory festival our community deserves.
We also encourage businesses to sign up to our Friends of Dorothy scheme, and to review our Code of Conduct and Values — showing your commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community, and helping make Margate and beyond a safer, better place for all.
