A unique and meaningful opportunity to learn from Viktor Manoel: OG Punker, Cultural Carrier, Living Legend
Viktor Manoel is one of the last living original punkers — an artist, dancer and teacher dedicated to preserving and sharing the truth of the art form and the culture that birthed it.
Join us in Glasgow for a unique workshop exploring the history, philosophy, fundamentals, and expressive tools of Punking, the original form often known today as Whacking. This is not just a space to move, but a rare opportunity to connect with the roots of an underground and often misrepresented culture. Come and hear it from the source.
***Open to all - come with curiosity, an open heart and all of your questions***
Location:
Studio 22
22 Jamaica Street
Glasgow
G1 4QD
Pay what you can
Tickets are offered on a sliding scale, in recognition that those who may benefit most from Punking often face financial barriers to access. Please take a moment to read the guidance for each ticket tier and contribute what is both fair and possible.
We also have a limited number of free tickets set aside for QTBIPOC and anyone facing financial barriers, no questions asked. Please get in touch to reserve.
All funds will go toward covering Viktor’s travel, studio hire, and his well-deserved fee. Any surplus will be reinvested to support future Whacking sessions and community offerings.
Community Meal
After the workshop, we will host a community meal at Transmission Gallery, 28 King Street, Glasgow, G1 5QP. Food will be (lovingly!) prepared by members of the Whacking Scotland community. This will be a relaxed and welcoming space to continue conversations, connect with others, and celebrate the culture together.
