“Despite its cheerful international image, my native country, Brazil, remains the number one country for trans murders—a most shameful indictment indeed. When I lived there, I myself experienced abuse daily and know well what effects it can have on one’s life. It almost cost me mine. That may seem incredible, but it’s true. In order to survive, I had to leave the country. But what of those who cannot afford to? Or those more courageous or resilient than myself, who resist the system while refusing to leave? The Pink Supper is dedicated to them.” Nando Messias
Join Nando for this intimate gathering at the Jerwood Gallery as they attempt to promote an understanding of these rights through the shared experience of sitting around a table, breaking bread and witnessing performance.

The (Almost) Pink Supper is an early iteration of The Pink Supper, which will premiere in the UK in Spring 2020 (dates tbc). The Pink Supper has been commissioned by LADA and the Library of Performing Rights.
