Clare Project Group Visit to Charleston in Firle
The home and studio of the artists Vanessa Bell and Duncan Grant, Charleston was a gathering point for some of the 20th century’s most radical writers, artists and thinkers, known collectively as the Bloomsbury group.
Join us for a private group tour of the historic house, followed by time to explore the gardens, which will be at their best in July. Afterwards, anyone who wishes to is invited to take part in a conversation with Nick Kidd, Charleston's Head of Learning and Participation, about how the local queer and trans community can be included in future plans for Charleston.
Participants have the option of arranging their own transport to and from Charleston (https://www.charleston.org.uk/getting-here-charleston-in-firle/) for a 10am tour, or travelling by minibus with other group members, meeting at Dorset Gardens Methodist Church (Dorset Gardens, Brighton, BN2 1RL) at 9:15am, returning at 12:45pm. Please indicate your preference via the ticket options.
This event is entirely free of charge, thanks to the generous support of Charleston.
