The Queer Digital Detox is going on a road trip!! For the month of August we're leaving the gorgeous streets of Norwich and heading out to the beautiful Cromer coast. Easily accessible by both train and bus if you're on public transport, or there's obviously plenty of parking if you're driving out to join us. Bring with you whatever you fancy doing during a couple of offline hours at the beach - swim stuff, kites, body boards, BBQs, craft kits, books - whatever tickles your fancy!
This QDD will be slightly longer than usual to make the most of the evening - we'll start at 7pm and finish at sunset :)
Any questions, feel free to pop me a message! I'll also email out the exact location nearer the time, once I've finalised the perfect beach spot ;)
In case you're new to QDD or need a reminder, see below for all the details. Looking forward to seeing you there!
What is Queer Digital Detox?
It’s a gentle, in-person space for queer people who are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or just bloody sick of being online all the time. These events are about slowing down, switching off, and reconnecting—with yourself, with others, and with what actually feels good.
This is for you if...
- You’re feeling frazzled, burnt out, or like your brain’s got too many tabs open
- You’ve been craving real-life queer connection that doesn’t revolve around bars, dating apps or big social energy
- You’re tired of the pressure to perform, explain yourself, or be “on” all the time
- You want to rest, create, potter, or just sit in a comfy chair without anyone asking why
- You’re trying to take a break from the endless scroll and actually give your nervous system a bit of a breather
- You miss the feeling of queer community in real life—or maybe you’ve never really had it and want to see what it could be like
These sessions are a kind of group exhale—especially for queer people who are tired of online spaces that feel draining, performative, or just not made with us in mind.
You can come solo or with pals. You can chat or be quiet. You can stay the whole time or just drop in. It’s your time, your pace, your space.
When is it?
The Queer Digital Detox takes place on the last Wednesday of every month
