Greg Belson is a DJ, record collector, producer, curator and compiler of rare soul music you might not have heard before, specializing in the world of Gospel. His constantly evolving collection of hard to find, original recordings is revered around the world as one of the finest examples of its type, and is the result of many decades of diggin in the crates across the United States.
Born and raised in London, UK, Greg began his DJ career playing and promoting gigs in and around Europe with label mates from Defected Records, Ninjatune/BBE, which led to Greg joining forces with Keb Darge to launch the now-legendary Deep Funk night. Greg’s multi-year residencies at The Great Escape and his own Hogwash club nights set the standard for busy dancefloors.
And let us not forget his journey into the heavenly world of disco in the worlds best club “for one weekend only” NYC Downlow at Glastonbury festival, where he delivers a sunrise gospel set every year!
On the night he’ll be joined by a local legend in Jo Wallace!
Jo first got into music watching Millie Small and Marvin Gaye on top Mod TV show Ready Steady Go in 1964. She started working in record shops in 1973, DJ'ing in '76 and broadcasting in '83.
While Head of Paper Archiving at Universal Music, Jo compiled and released the Motown CDs, Soul Satisfaction 2-5, Motown Floorshakers, Motown Northern and Motown Love as a sideline. During this time, she also curated ‘Island Records 50th Anniversary’ exhibition and put together the soundtracks for the Versace and Vivienne Westwood exhibitions at London’s Victoria and Albert Museum.
