Meteor Shower Viewing Evening
Join us in our warm, welcoming Studio on the evening of the Perseid meteor shower for a talk about what to expect before watching the shower in the grounds of Wymondham Abbey.
Our Studio sits on the edge of the Abbey grounds providing the perfect space to gather and find out what's about to take place in the night sky.
Sophie, who has closely studied the night skies and led University groups of star gazers, will brief you about what you will be able to see (weather permitting).
After the briefing, Sophie and the team will lead you into the grounds of Wymondham Abbey to view the shower.
Doors open at 7pm where we'll be serving beef or veggie chilli, or pulled pork served on potato wedges, or falafel buddha bowls. The talk will begin at 8pm and viewing in the Abbey grounds will depend on weather conditions. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the evening.
Bring any chairs or blankets you may want to sit or lie on to view the shower. Please do bring cameras. We ask that use of phones is kept for emergencies to ensure light pollution is kept to a minimum.
This is a free event, but donations are most welcome to help us run our community venue which is run by volunteers from social enterprise ClearCompany CIC.
